Cops: Angry Customer Roils Bar, Returns with Hockey Stick

Osvaldo Hernandez, 28, was angry for some reason, then caused a ruckus at Brennan's Tap Room at 280 Connecticut Ave. before he was thrown out late Saturday or early Sunday, according to police.

He then came back for more, and was arrested, police said.

Here's the Norwalk Police account of the incident (an accusation not proven in court):

Hernandez, who wasn't eating or drinking at the bar, approached a poo table, slammed balls on it, swore and yelled at people working at the bar and refused to leave when told to do so.

Bouncers at the bar brought Hernandez outside, where he took a swing at someone and hit that person under the eye. The victim went to the hospital, where doctors treated the injury with glue stitches.

Hernandez left briefly, then returned with a hockey stick and struck about four people. No one needed medical attention as a result.

Police were called to the scene and charged Hernandez, a resident of Howard Avenue in Bridgeport, with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree reckless endangerment, and both third-degree and second-degree assault.

He was initially held on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Dec. 17 in state Superior Court in Norwalk if he met bond.
