Cop Injured When Car Strikes His Cruiser in East Norwalk [Update]
Officer Phillip Roselle was taken to Norwalk Hospital; the driver of the other car was unhurt.
A Norwalk Police Officer was injured Friday afternoon after his cruiser was struck by a car pulling away from a curb on Gregory Boulevard.
Norwalk police gave the following account of the incident:
Officer Phillip Roselle was traveling northbound and approaching Lorena Street (see map on this page) when a 2003 Audi that was parked along the curb pulled out in front of his cruiser, causing the left front fender of the car to strike Roselle's vehicle.

The impact caused Roselle to lose control and swerve left into the oncoming lane of before jumping the curb and sideswiping a utility pole. The car came to rest on the front lawn of a house.
It had damage to both front fenders and both front wheels.

Officers at the scene said Roselle had chest injuries and was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital. He has been a Norwalk officer since March of 1988.
The driver of the Audi was unhurt.
At 3:45 p.m., Norwalk Hospital was unable to provide Roselle's condition.
