City Woman Accused of Shoplifting at Kohl's

The following information was provided by the Norwalk Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A resident of 12A Adamson Ave. was held by security at Kohl's, 500 Connecticut Ave., Tuesday morning, accused of attempting to leave the store with unpaid for merchandise.

Janeth Anaya, 37, was stopped and allegedly found to be carrying a bag containing shirts, dresses, sneakers and jewelry worth $417.

Anaya was charged with fifth-degree larceny. She was held on $600 bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 9.

Men Accused of Trespassing Attempt to Flee From Police  

Two men spotted by police at the King-Kennedy housing project on Chestnut Street Tuesday night were captured following a foot chase.

Police said officers approached Kingston Gayle, 23, of 25 Chestnut St., and Fallou Seye, 19, of 42 Glasser St., and ordered them to stop.

The pair fled, police said, but were caught on Henry Street.

Gayle was charged with third-degree criminal trespass and interfering with an officer. Seye was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal trespass and interfering with an officer.

Both were held on $1,000 bond and assigned courts dates of Sept. 8.

Vehicle Window Broken

A 1997 Range Rover SUV had a window smashed out Tuesday morning while it was parked in the Yankee Doodle garage, 1 Burnell Blvd. Nothing was taken.
