Norwalk Man Charged with Shooting Three Others

An August 28 confrontation started as a fistfight and ended with gunfire, police say.

A 20-year-old city man, Christopher Entzminger-Joyner, was arraigned in state Superior Court in Norwalk Wednesday, accused of shooting three men on Taylor Avenue Aug. 28.

In a sworn affidavit to obtain an arrest warrant, Det. Shannon Sherry said several witnesses told police that the shooting occurred in the midst of a fistfight between two men on the stairs leading from Taylor Avenue to Summit Avenue.

One of the combatants, a witness told Sherry, was Entzminger-Joyner, who, according to the witness, drew a revolver from his right, front pants pocket and shot the man he was fighting with, Troy Davis.

Davis was hit on the left side of his stomach. The other persons shot, according to Sherry, were Anthony Entzminger, who was hit in his left arm, and Maurice Tomlin Jr., who was shot in his upper thigh.

Entzminger-Joyner, of 42 Taylor Ave., was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, charged with three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.

Following his arrest, Entzminger-Joyner’s was held in lieu of posting $200,000.

During his appearance before Judge Maureen D. Dennis, Entzminger-Joyner’s attorney, Stephen J. DeLeo, argued one of the witnesses police spoke with gave three versions of what occurred.

“This is a raw case based on probable cause, your honor,” said DeLeo, adding the affidavit doesn’t contain anything supporting a charge
of first-degree assault.

DeLeo requested his client’s bond be reduced to $50,000, with the understanding Entzminger-Joyner would have to wear a bracelet showing his location if he’s released.

Dennis lowered his bond at $150,000. She said if he were released, Entzminger-Joyner would have to wear the bracelet, and ordered him not to contact other parties involved in the case.

The case was continued to Sept 14.
