Business Owner Suspects Former Employee of Burglary
Surveillance video shows man tampering with backhoe two nights in a row.
The owner of an East Norwalk landscaping company told police he believes a former employee stole equipment from his company.
The man called police Sunday morning from Perfect Plantings, 19 Fort Point St., to report the theft of two masonry chop saws and a backpack left blower.
He told officers he reviewed surveillance video and observed that overnight on Dec. 25 a man he formerly employed spent an hour tampering with a backhoe parked behind his business. He said the video showed the man returned the next night and again tampered with the backhoe, which was parked so as to block a rear entrance to the business.
