Bridgeport Man Shot in Norwalk's Monterey Village

A Briidgeport man was shot Tuesday afternoon while he sat in a parked car at Monterey Village, a housing complex in South Norwalk.

Norwalk Police Department issued this news release at 9:44 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24:

This afternoon at 3:54 p.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting near Building 2 of Carleton Court [now named Monterey Village], a privately owned housing complex located on Grove Street in South Norwalk.

Officers responded to the scene and found the victim who had been shot multiple times.

The victim is a 24-year-old male resident of Bridgeport with ties to Norwalk and had been sitting in a parked car when he was shot.

Norwalk Hospital EMS responded, treated and transported the victim to Norwalk Hospital.

Detectives responded to the scene, interviewed residents, gathered evidence and are continuing the investigation.

The suspect fled on foot through a backyard on Novak Street and then to South Main Street.

The suspect is described as a short black male wearing grey sweat pants and a black jacket with either dreadlocks or braids in his hair.

The victim is in stable condition at this time at Norwalk Hospital.
