Bridgeport Man Arrested for Selling Cocaine Outside of Norwalk Business

Irving McClendon sold cocaine to undercover police officers back in November, according to police.

 

A 58 year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly sold three bags of cocaine to undercover police officers on Nov. 27, according to police.

Irving McClendon of 120 Clinton Ave., Bridgeport, approached the officers in front of Alexa Grocery at 133 South Main Street where they asked him if he had $350 worth of drugs available for purchase, police said. McClendon told the officers that he didn't have that much, but could sell them three bags for $60, according to police. The officers purchased bags, which later tested positive for cocaine.

After obtaining a warrant for his arrest, police arrested MClendon on Saturday in front of Alexa Grocery and charged him with two counts of illegal possession of narcotics near a school, two counts of conspiracy, two counts of sale or possession of narcotics within a certain distance of a school, two counts of illegal manufacturing, distribution or sale of prescription durgs, two counts of narcotics possession and possession of a controlled substance.

McClendon's bond was set at $150,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on March 25.
