Boat Burglary Yields Electronic Chart Plotter

The owner of a 31-foot-long Formula boat reported on Tuesday afternoon it was burglarized while docked at Norwalk Cover Marina, 48 Calf Pasture Beach Rd.

The man called police shortly before 2:30 p.m. Marine Police Officer John Taranto reported a Garmin 701 electronic chart plotter and a pair of marine binoculators were taken, valued at $1,300.

Taranto said the boat was in a slip on Dock F and a portion of the boat's rear cover was opened to gain entry.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Cotto said officers would be viewing surveillance video to determine if the perpertrator's image was captured.
