Resident Reports Window Shot Out; Police Charge BB Gun Owner

A Fairview Avenue resident reported on Saturday a window of her apartment was shot out by a BB pellet, the fourth time this had occurred over the last several weeks.

Based on the direction her windows face, the officer went to the Sheffield Ridge condominiums at 50 Fairview Ave., and questioned residents and the complex’s management.

A neighbor told the officer a resident in apartment 2G had a BB gun.

The officer knocked on the door of that unit and was told that one of its occupants, a 19-year-old male, owned a Daisy Stinger P3 BB gun.

The teen allegedly told the officer he shoots at birds. He said he didn’t know it was illegal to shoot birds and hadn't targeted anything else.

Brayan Oseguera was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm and third-degree criminal mischief.

He was given a court date of July 28.

The complainant was advised of Oseguera’s arrest.
