11 PM Mugging at So. Norwalk Train Station

The following information was provided by the Norwalk Police Department. Neither arrests nor charges indicate a conviction, and neither means that a person is guilty of what police allege.

A 51-year-old Trumbull man told police he was mugged as he was walking to catch a train at the South Norwalk Metro-North Station late Wednesday night.

The man was entering the station parking lot at the Henry Street entrance sometime before 11 p.m. when the incident happened. He told police he was talking on his cell phone when he was hit on his head from behind and pushed to the ground.

His prepaid cell phone was taken from him as was the $10 he had in his hand for a train ticket. He had no other money or even a wallet on him, he told police. Although he didn't get a good look at any of the muggers, he said, he thought there were two to four of them.
