Letter: 'Thank You' to Breast Cancer Research Event Volunteers, Participants

SpinOdyssey will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. this Sunday, March 4, at INTENSITY in Norwalk.

Dear Editor:

The American Cancer Society wishes to acknowledge the dedicated volunteers and participants who have developed as the area’s premier indoor cycling and fitness event benefitting breast cancer research for 13 years.

This community event involves supporters riding for one to six hours throughout the morning and into the early afternoon.  Zumba, Pump, Yoga and Tennis are also part of the full-day schedule of activities. It takes place on Sunday, March 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at , 490 Westport Avenue, Norwalk. Registration is available at spinodyssey.org and a link to the site on cancer.org.

Funds raised through SpinOdyssey support the American Cancer Society in our mission to finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery. With approximately 300 participants in recent years, SpinOdyssey has successfully dedicated over $3 million towards scientific discovery by funding 23 American Cancer Society cancer researchers.  Each scientist is doing something a little different from the other, but they all have the goal of advancing the treatment of breast cancer.

We are so grateful and admire the impact SpinOdyssey committee members and supporters have made locally and look forward to seeing more people involved in this fitness funding effort for breast cancer research.

Sincerely,

Gayle Alswanger
