Virginia "Ginny" McMahon, 86

Virginia McMahon, 86, passed away on Friday, Dec. 6 at Wilton Meadows Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving daughters.

She was born in Cornwall, Connecticut on Feb. 2, 1927. She was the daughter of Frederick and Charlotte Root.

She is survived by her daughter Debby Schreiner and son in law Chris of Norwalk and Pam Drolsbaugh of Wilton, grandchildren, Christopher Schreiner of Norwalk and Justin and Carlton Drolsbaugh of Wilton.

She is also survived by two sisters, Phyllis Zucco of Great Barrington, Massachusetts and Beatrice Colby of Goshen, Connecticut, brother-in-law brother John Paul McMahon, T.O.R. of Steubenville, Ohio.

In addition, she leaves a cousin Marion Blake of Cornwall, Connecticut and many nieces and nephews.

Ginny was a 1947 graduate of the Norwalk Hospital School of Nursing and devoted her entire professional career to the field of geriatric care, earning a reputation as a devoted advocate for the elderly until her retirement in 1999.

She cherished her role as a mother and will always be remembered as the quintessential caregiver on so many levels.
