Edith Marie Scallion, 87, of South Norwalk, died on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at . Born in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Mary Mae (Thomas) Hageney, she was the wife of the late James P. Scallion.

She is survived by five loving children; Kathleen Northrop and her husband Russ of Durham, NH, Thomas Scallion and his wife Rosanne of Norwalk, Maureen Wayman and her husband Steve of Landing, NJ, Joan Scallion of Norwalk, and Peter Scallion of NYC, daughter-in-law Nancy Scallion, 10 cherished grandchildren: Michael (Sarah) Northrup, Christy (Matt) Lyons Laura Northrop, Tara Polanco, Alex Scallion, David, Eric and Lara Wayman, Scott (May) Scallion and Brian (Stacie) Scallion, two great-grandchildren; Sylvana and Nerea Northrop, a brother Wally Hageney, and two cousins, Edie Gustafson and Alice Ruane. She was predeceased by an infant son Jimmy Scallion and son Bob Scallion.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the , 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.
