Obituary: Catherine P. Reda, 94

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 6, 11:00a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St. in Norwalk.

Catherine P. Reda, age 94, of West Haven and former longtime Norwalk resident, died peacefully at the Paradigm Health Care Center in West Haven on Friday, November 1. 

She was the wife of the late Louis Reda.  Catherine was born in Norwalk on October 3, 1919, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna DiGirolama Piccione.  She worked for several years at Zell Products and then at the Union Trust Co. Operations Center where she was a supervisor. 

Catherine was a member of the Columbiettes, the Notre Dame High School Alumni Mothers, the Bradley Point Garden Club and the Rosarian Guild at St. Joseph’s Church in Norwalk.  She enjoyed cooking and visits to the beach and especially looked forward to her special time with her family.    

Catherine is survived by her son, Louis Reda and his wife Lisa of Wilton, her daughters Mary-Ann Flynn and her husband Dennis of West Haven, and Cathy L. Cardillo of Bethel.  Also surviving are her grandchildren Kristy, Tom, Matt, T.J., Kevin, Mike, Rachel and Elizabeth, her great grandchildren Lily and Dan, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brothers Paul and Peter Piccione, and her son-in-law Tom Cardillo.    

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 6, 11:00a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.  Catherine’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:30a.m., prior to leaving for church.
