Mary Harelik Jankowski, "Punnee," 100, Born on Christmas Day

Calling hours will be Friday, Nov 29 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Sat., Nov 30 at St. Matthew Church.

Mary Jankowski, age 100, wife of the late Hipolit Jankowski, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Nov. 22, at home with family by her side.

Mary was born on Dec. 25, 1912 in Westport to the late Nelly Rankewicz, and Stella and Stephen Harelik.

She was raised in Milford and attended schools in Bridgeport. She married her husband in 1933 and moved to Fairfield where she raised their four children. She worked at Carnation Gardens in Westport for over 30 years. After her husband passed away in 1963 she moved to Milford and later to Norwalk where she lived the past 20 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her 3 daughters, Wanda Santorelli (Carmine), Barbara Santorelli (Joseph) all of Norwalk, and Ellie Hess (Larry) of Spring Hill, FL. Also surviving are her cherished nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Edward, her sister Lila Teshoney and her brothers Stanley, Charles and Joseph Harelik.

Calling hours will be Friday, Nov 29 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Sat., Nov 30 at St. Matthew Church, Norwalk with interment to follow at St. Michael cemetery, Stratford.

Her family would like to thank Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County for their compassion and care of Mom these past several weeks.

Special thanks to the parish family of St. Matthew; Monsignor Walter, Sister Sally and Rich Albertelli for their weekly visits, prayers, love and support.
