Lifetime Norwalk Resident, 90, Passes Away

Lifetime Norwalk resident Marie Licari Conley passes away at 90. Funeral plans scheduled for later this week.

Marie Licari Conley, age 90, of Norwalk, died peacefully on Thursday, April 12 at Wilton Meadows.  She was the wife of the late Howard Hilton Conley.  Marie was born in Norwalk on August 11, 1921, daughter of the late Natale and Lucia Licari and has lived locally all of her life.  She was a former employee of the Harlick Bag Company. 

Marie loved animals and her pets were spoiled and well loved. She also enjoyed tag sales, church fairs, thrift shops, art, painting and visits to the Norwalk Senior Center.  She loved walking to the beach and visiting with her neighbors along the way. Marie never drove a car but remained independent by taking buses, taxi’s or hitching a ride from friends and family. She never missed an event as she thrived on spending time with her family and friends.  She was the kindest most caring loving sole with not a bad word to say about anyone. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.     

Survivors include her niece, Rosemary Licari Stolz, her nephew James Licari, Jeannette Licari Peclet, great nieces and nephews Dee, James, Jr., Jeanne, Liz and Henry and many gr. Gr. Nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother Jack Licari and Step-daughter Bernice Cocco.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 10 AM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.  Marie’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7 PM.  Donations in her name may be made to P.A.W.S., 504 Main Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851.  For directions or to sign an online guest book, please go to magnerfuneralhome.com.
