James M. Pearson, Jr., 74, Airborne Veteran

Pearson died on Saturday, April 6, at his home.

 

James M. “Jim” Pearson, Jr., Airborne Veteran, died on Saturday, April 6, at his home. Jim was born April 4, 1939, husband of Betty Fitch Pearson of Norwalk, father of two sons, James M. Pearson, Sr. (Mary) and Lawrence W. Pearson (Dawn), all of Newtown, four grandchildren, James Michael, Rebecca Lynn, Morgan Sage and Freya Rayne, a sister, Loretta Atwater of AZ, sister-in-law June Henczel of Norwalk and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his parents, James and Agnes Pearson, Sr., and his sister, Virginia Pearson.      

Jim served in the US Army 101st Airborne in Korea and in the National Guard.  He was a life member of the 101st Airborne Div. Assoc., the 82nd and CT Yankee Airborne Div. Assoc., Korean War Veteran’s, CT Post 1, AMVETS Post 18, American Legion Post 12, and the V.F.W.  He was Past Master of Old Well Lodge 108 AM&FM, Past Monarch of Monker Grotto, life member of George Washington Masonic Memorial, Sword of Bunker Hill, Order of Kentucky Colonels, the NRA, CT Rifle and Revolver Assoc., CT CB Club and the American Radio Club.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 11:30 AM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk with Rev. Gregory Saunders officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk. Jim’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 PM.
