Eleanor M. Modee, 99, 40-Year Norwalk Local

Eleanor M. Modee, 99, of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Westport health Care Center on Sunday, September 23.  She was the wife of the late Herbert Modee.  Eleanor was born on April 10, 1913 in New York City, the daughter of the late Charles and Johanna Herbert O’Connor.  She grew up in Richmond Hill, NY and has lived locally for over 40 years.      

Survivors include a daughter Noreen M. Cox and her husband Robert of Brooksville, FL, a son Michael H. Modee and his wife Leslie of Norwalk, 17 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Eleanor was also predeceased by two daughters, Joan DeSimone and Patricia Modee; and her brother Charles O’Connor.     

Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Wednesday at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.  Eleanor’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 AM until services begin.  For directions or to leave an online condolence, please go to magnerfuneralhome.com
