Obituary: Armondo Maiorino, 87, WWII Vet

Armondo Maiorino, 87, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.

 

Armondo Maiorino, 87, of Norwalk, died on Monday, September 17, 2012 at CT Hospice Branford. Born in the Bronx, NY, the son of the late Louis and Elisa (Garabo) Maiorino, he was the beloved husband of Rose (Lasorte) Maiorino for over 55 years.

A veteran of WWII and Korea, he worked as a bookkeeper for most of his life. More recently he owned the Four Point Grocery Store and retired as Tax Assessor for the City of Norwalk.

A loving a devoted family man he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife Rose, he is survived by his children; Nancy Layman and her husband Gregg, Michael Maiorino, Louis Maiorino , all of Norwalk and Laura Jennings of Monroe, 6 cherished grandchildren; Dana, Michael and Haley Maiorino, and Peter, John and Caroline Jennings, as well as a sister Ann Simonetti, and his 2 grand-dogs, Thermos and Haley. He was predeceased by his siblings Angie Infantino, Michael Maiorino and Jean DiGiacomo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 22 at St. Jerome Church, route: {:controller=>"listings", :action=>"show", :id=>"st-jerome-roman-catholic-church"} -->, 23 Half Mile Rd, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.  His family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the
