Carver's 44th Annual College Tour Underway

On Saturday, April 12th, chaperoned Carver students boarded their chartered bus heading initially to Raleigh, NC, for a life-changing, 10-day road trip over spring break to the schools they aspire to attend, this year to schools strong in STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) education and careers. The itinerary for our 44th annual spring College Tour is as follows: Troy University (Raleigh, NC); Tuskegee Institute (Tuskegee, AL); Auburn University (Auburn, AL); Alabama University (Auburn, AL); Alabama State University (Montgomery, AL); Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA); Savannah College of Arts and Design (Atlanta, GA); Oxford College at Emory (Oxford, GA); Benedict College (Columbia, SC); visit Busch Gardens (Williamsburg, VA); Westminister College (New Willington, PA).

The College Tour introduces Norwalk middle and high school students to the rigors and joys of a college education. School administrators, admissions and financial aid officers, college students including many former Carver students, and others give tours, make presentations and interact with the visiting Carver students. Whether asking questions, touring the campuses, or sharing meals with former Carver peers now excelling at these excellent schools, the goal is to motivate each visiting Carver student to envision the future as a successful college student.
