What are Genetically Modified Foods (GMO’s)?

Have you heard of Genetically Modified Food (GMO’s)? You better learn. Read a new disturbing report on the health effects of GMO’s.

Just an added note saying my heart breaks for the residents and all those affected by the the Sandy Hook shootings.  It makes me stop and think more than once about my love ones I have around me.  God Bless you all. Joan McDaniel     12/17/12

What are Genetically Modified Foods (GMO’s)?

In light of the recent first complete study of GMO’s, alarming findings of a French study by French research scientists, graphically link the lifetime consumption of Monsanto’s GMO corn in rats to massive tumors and direct organ failure, I thought I’d take a stab at attempting to clarify exactly what is a GMO?

Genetically modified foods (GM foods, or biotech foods) are foods derived from genetically modified organism (GMOs) such as genetically modified crops or animals. This article deals with genetically modified crops only.  It will not discuss genetic engineering of animals or of other different organisms. Remember Dolly the sheep?  Well we won’t be talking about Sheep, just plants and seeds.

Frankenfood’s

Opponents of genetically modified food often refer to it as "Frankenfood", after Mary Shelley's character Frankenstein and the monster she creates. The term was coined in 1992 by Paul Lewis, an English professor at Boston College who used the word in a letter he wrote to the New York Times in response to the decision of the US Food and Drug Administration to allow companies to market genetically modified food. The term "Frankenfood" has become a battle cry of the Label GMO movement.

Does GMO stand for “God Move Over”?

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel not include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer a perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" is fallacious and disingenuous.
