Did you know that Norwalk has its own Symphony Orchestra? Did you know we are about to celebrate our 75th anniversary?
The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra was founded 73 years ago and was affectionately called "The Doctor's and Lawyers Orchestra" for many years. In the mid 1980's, we made the transition to a fully professional orchestra and have been growing in musical stature ever since. Now, we are getting ready to celebrate our next major milestone: our Seventy-fifth Season in 2014-2015!!
I am honored that the Board of Governors has appointed me Interim Executive Director to help launch our "Drive to Seventy-Five". I am no stranger to the Symphony, having been sitting in the second flute/piccolo chair since 1986. I remember when Dr. Susan Weinberger was the President of the Board and she would stand up before our concerts at Brien McMahon High School to report on the progress that was being made on the Concert Hall. I have served on the Orchestra Committee, as Librarian, as Education and Operations Manager and, yes, even as Executive Director for a little while in the last decade.
I am very excited to be part of this new venture with the Symphony and hope you will join us as well. You can follow us on this blog as I chronicle our progress. You can join us at our concerts, become a volunteer, a subscriber, or a donor. There are many ways you can be a part of the Norwalk Symphony Community.

See you at the Symphony!
