STAR, Inc. Volunteers Host a Four-Star Thanksgiving for Developmentally Disabled

STAR hosted Thanksgiving for clients from Norwalk, Wilton, Westport, Darien, New Canaan and Weston.

Nearly 50 individuals with developmental disabilities from Norwalk, Wilton, Westport and Weston who were unable to be with family or friends at Thanksgiving enjoyed a holiday celebration with a traditional Thanksgiving meal, games and karaoke at STAR Center in Norwalk courtesy of Polly and John Lowman of Darien.

The celebration was staffed by volunteers and friends of STAR including staff members, family members and high school students from Darien High School. For many of the STAR clients, these STAR volunteers, staff members and fellow clients are their family. For all involved,  the celebration was a feel-good, happy holiday.

STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way is a not–for-profit organization serving infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families.
