Wells Fargo Gives $60,000 to CT Non-profits – $1,000 At a Time
Wells Fargo’s community bank team recently celebrated Community Week in Connecticut. Store managers took the opportunity to distribute a total of $60,000 in grants to local non-profits and causes important to them, according to a release from the bank.
Store managers are inviting local non-profit leaders to their stores or they will visit the organizations to deliver a $1,000 charitable contribution on behalf of Wells Fargo.“We use this week as an occasion to celebrate and acknowledge our community partners who provide critical services to local residents,” said Joe Kirk a regional president at Wells Fargo in a release.
Through the grants, "we support nonprofit organizations that address vital community needs and issues, including community development, education, human services, arts & culture, environmental and civic projects," said Kirk.
In 2012, the Wells Fargo Foundation invested approximately $1.1 million in Connecticut to support local non-profits and causes, and according to the release, Wells Fargo was the top corporate giver in the U.S. in 2012, investing $315.8 million in 19,500 nonprofits.
