Clean Out Your Closets for a Great Cause

Support Brien McMahon student activitiesby cleaning out your closets, basements and garages. The school's used clothing & scrap metal drive takes place on Sat., Oct. 26, 2013 10:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.

The Brien McMahon semi-annual clothing drive will raise funds this year for several Parents Club programs including funding scholarships, the post-grad party, and for a special fund open to teachers and clubs to support specific activities.

The collection takes place on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00am-2:00pm at Brien McMahon High School's Center for Global Studies Entrance.

“The money raised for this event makes a big difference to what we can do for the students,” said Barbara Garelick, co-president of the Parents Club in a release. “Community support is really important and we’re hoping that parents will come out in a big way this fall.”

The clothing drive accepts clothing, coats, belts, handbags, linens, pillows, backpacks, luggage, stuffed animals, boots, shoes, even bicycles and other sporting equipment.

“This is the perfect time of year to clean out the closets and the garage,” said Paula Yonkers and Mary Flynn, co-chairs of the drive in the release. “But please remember that all items must be packaged in plastic bags and please separate out footwear like shoes, boots, sneakers and sandals.”

All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided on request during drop-off.
