Author Jeff Clements at Pequot Library to discuss his book “Corporations are NOT People!”

Democracy for America will host author Jeffrey D. Clements at the Pequot Library in Southport at 7 PM for a discussion of his recently released book, Corporations Are Not People. 

Mr. Clements takes an in-depth look at how the January 2010 Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission legalized the doctrine of corporate personhood by recognizing corporations as legal persons who are entitled to exercise their free speech rights in the form of campaign spending.
