Donate Baby Diapers to Needy Families in May: Here's How

Some families can't afford enough diapers, so some babies have to stay in soiled ones for a while, and that can lead to health risks.

CT Moms Online flyer (a news release follows, with a list of locations at bottom):

Over two dozen parenting organizations, groups, websites, resources and businesses are collaborating to orchestrate our area’s largest diaper drive throughout May 2014 to benefit local charities in Fairfield County.

There is such a huge need for diapers in our community. While government programs help low- income families cover the food needs of their children, diapers are considered a ‘non-consumable’ product and therefore not covered.

Unfortunately, there are those in our area who simply cannot afford to cover this expense, and to compensate babies may be left in a soiled diaper in order to stretch their supply, leading to potential health risks like rashes and infections.

Won’t you please join us? ALL Area Locations of Bright Horizons Early Education & Preschool, The Little Gym, Tumble Jungle and KidVille are available for drop off of any diapers – loose, opened, packaged and all sizes.

Information about the charities, donations and process as well as links to our registries on Amazon, Diapers.com and Paypal link can be found at:

News release

CT Moms online news release:

CT-Moms Online, the only non-profit parenting forum in Fairfield County, CT, has partnered with over a dozen parenting organizations around the area for their 7th annual Diaper Drive.

This drive will continue throughout the month of May at all 17 area locations of Bright Horizons Early Education & Preschool, The Little Gym, Tumble Jungle and KidVille spanning the area from Stamford to Newtown with the help of over 20 town coordinators.

“Disposable Diapers are on the wish list of every charity mostly because they are so expensive and not covered by any government aid” Medha Thomas says, the Executive Director of CT- Moms Online.

“It’s a natural fit for us to work with these amazing businesses and organizational partners to help others in our area.”

Started in 2007 by collecting diapers from 80 members in their private homes, this drive has grown from a few boxes of diapers to over 20,000 diapers in the month filling two storage units.

In 2014, it is their goal to collect at least 30,000 diapers for ten local charities including Operation Hope, The Bridgeport Rescue Mission, The Domestic Violence Crisis Center, The Tiny Miracles Foundation, Homes with Hope and more.

All brands, sizes and types of diapers and diapering supplies are welcomed, including opened packages or loose diapers, wipes and toiletries. No clothing or other items are accepted. This diaper drive is open to any organization, company, place of worship or any group or individual that would like to help by emailing diapers@ctmomsonline.com

Each location has a marked drop box and the website has links for the online registries at diapers.com and Amazon: www.ctmomsonline.com/2014-diaper-drive
