The Semi-Annual Brien McMahon Clothing Drive
The Brien
McMahon semi-annual clothing drive will raise funds this year for several
Parents Club programs including funding scholarships, the post-grad party, and
for a special fund open to teachers and clubs to support specific activities.
“The
money raised for this event makes a big difference to what we can do for the
students,” says Barbara Garelick, co-president of the Parents Club. “Community
support is really important and we’re hoping that parents will come out in a
big way this fall.”
The
clothing drive accepts clothing, coats, belts, handbags, linens, pillows,
backpacks, luggage, stuffed animals, boots, shoes, even bicycles and other
sporting equipment. “This is the perfect time of year to clean out the closets
and the garage,” says Paula Yonkers and Mary Flynn, co-chairs of the drive.
“But please remember that all items must be packaged in plastic bags and please
keep footwear separate (shoes, boots, sneakers and sandals).”
