Knowing how to read a nautical chart and how to plot a course are prerequisites for navigating on the water. The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is providing a 1/2-day seminar How to Read a Nautical Chart on
Saturday, August 24, at their Training Center on Calf Pasture Beach in East
Norwalk. The seminar is followed by an optional, hands-on workshop for plotting
a course using navigation tools. A $60 fee includes textbook, charts, and
workshop. Sign in starts at 7:30 am. Seminar begins at 8:00
am and the optional workshop at 12:30 pm.
