Open Mic Night

Saturday, September 21st, 7:00-9:00 pm  – $10 Cover Sign-up for those who wish to perform begins at 6:30 when the doors open and ends at 6:55 pm just before we begin at 7:00 pm. Some snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

Bring music printed out in your key, and Kenneth will accompany you at the piano for your moment at the microphone.  Comedians, poets, writers and musicians welcomed as well.

Kristin Huffman appeared in the Tony award, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Awards for Best Revival of a Musical Company, playing “Sarah” as well as flute, sax and piccolo. The production was filmed and aired on PBS’s Great Performances.  She is the Executive and Artistic director of The New Paradigm Theatre, a professional non profit (501 c 3) theatre company, www.nptheatre.org, and she has a career that has spanned over 20 years professionally performing with operas, theatres, symphonies around the US/Europe.  As a former Miss Ohio/Runner-up Miss America she continues hosting and producing charity events. She and her team created The Powerful Image Events to help non-profits raise awareness and funds and she is on the marketing committee for the United Way.  As a professor at the University of Hartford and Western CT State she trains singer/actors for a life “on the wicked stage” and also music teachers for a life in the classroom.  She writes for the Sondheim Review and her own theatre blog.   She is a member of NATS, AEA, AFTRA and SAG and she frequently judges international choir competitions in the US and Canada.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from both Capital University Conservatory of Music BM (Music ed: flute and voice concentration) and Northwestern University (Masters of Music- Opera)  Visit www.kristinhuffman.com.
