March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction

On Wednesday, October 2nd,
area residents are invited to take a culinary excursion featuring Fairfield
County's finest restaurants, all for a great cause – stronger, healthier
babies.  Top area chefs will come together for Signature Chefs Auction®, an incredible evening to benefit
the March of Dimes at The Waters Edge at Giovanni's in Darien.

While tasting the delights of such local chefs from Barcelona Wine Bar, Rizzuto’s Restaurant and Bar,
The Waters Edge at Giovanni’s
and more, guests will bid on a unique assortment of live and silent auction
packages including experiences with the chefs, entertainment and travel, and
contribute to the very special Fund the Mission campaign.

Special guest speakers include Stacey
Schieffelin
, founder and president ybf Cosmetics, and Lisa Wexler of The Lisa Wexler Show.

“We are thrilled to have not only the talents of many local chefs joining us in
support of our mission to helps moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy
babies, but these two dynamic women as well,” said Alyssa Kent, Signature Chefs
Auction committee.  “Stacey and Lisa are both proud moms and know how
important it is for women to be informed and supported before, during and after
pregnancy.  We know guests will be thoroughly entertained!”

Funds raised support lifesaving
research and educational programs in Fairfield County and throughout
Connecticut, such as CenteringPregnancy® (group model of prenatal care);
gestational diabetes education; Healthy Babies Are Worth the Wait® (an
education campaign to encourage women, if their pregnancy is healthy, to wait
until at least 39 weeks to deliver); and NICU (neonatal intensive care unit)
Family Support.

Premature birth is the most serious infant health problem in
the United States today. It affects nearly half a million babies nationwide
each year, including 1 in 10 babies in Fairfield County. Babies born too soon
are more likely to die or have lifelong disabilities. The March of Dimes is
committed to reversing this trend by funding research to find the causes of
premature birth and developing strategies to prevent it.

Signature Chefs Auction tickets are on sale for $175 per person or $1,500 for a
table of 10, and is proudly sponsored by The Hermitage Club at Haystack
Mountain, and Stifel Marcin Advertising, Marketing and Design.  To reserve
your seat or to make a donation, visit marchofdimes.com/ct

The March of Dimes celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and its ongoing
work to help all babies get a healthy start in life.  More than 4 million
babies were born in the United States last year, and the March of Dimes has
helped each and every one through research, education, vaccines, and
breakthroughs.
