Volunteer Trail Work and Tree Planting

Trail Work Volunteers Needed

Learn About How Songbirds and Butterflies Need Native Plants to Survive. Help Replace Invasives With Native Plants Along the Hiking Trail Behind the Norwalk Library.

The public is invited to join NRWA, Norwalk Tree Alliance, NRVT and REI Norwalk to help enhance the section of the Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT) that runs from Union Park to Mathews Park. Volunteers will clean up trash along the trail, cut back invasive plants and help plant native trees as well as indigenous shrubs and vines.  NRWA board members Dave Havens and Elizabeth Craig will identify and discuss the invasives present along the Trail and instruct volunteers on the proper removal techniques.
