Two of southern Connecticut's well-known decorative arts groups -- the Greenwich Antiques society and the Connecticut Ceramics Study Circle -- will host a joint lecture, Delft: Blue or Not?, given by noted Delft expert, Robert Aronson of Aronson Antiquairs of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Rare and striking earthenware tablewares, vases, plaques, and garniture sets will not only illustrate the colorful techniques of 17th and 18th century Dutch potters, but also tell a story of global exploration, royal politics and the history of bold Dutch traders.

Mr. Aronson, 42, is a fifth generation family member of Aronson Antiquairs, the family antiques firm in Old Town, Amsterdam, founded by patriarch Leon Aronson in 1881.

Mr. Aronson and his firm will be participating in this month's Winter Antiques Show in New York City, following this lecture.
