Literacy Volunteers will train you to work with adult learners to improve their literacy skills. Helping someone improve their reading and writing skills or learn the English language can open up a world of opportunity. Experience the joy and fulfillment of helping someone complete a job application for the first time, be able to help their child with homework, earn a high school diploma, or become a US citizen.
You do not need to speak another language or have a teaching background. A high school diploma or equivalency is required along with the ability to speak English clearly. More importantly, you just need a willingness to help someone improve his/her life.
