The Community Cooperative Nursery School (CCNS) in Rowayton is holding its 52nd Annual Art Show & Sale on June 5-8. Well-known to buyers for its sophistication and affordability, this remarkable show offers a wide variety of original works from over 80 local and nationally recognized artists. Art lovers wait all year for this show where 40% of all art proceeds are donated to CCNS and are tax-deductible for the buyer.Featured artists Helen Cantrell, Judy Friday, and Catherine Christiano will bring the thriving art community of Old Lyme to lower Fairfield County this Spring.
New this year: Art show visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process from two featured artists who will hold live painting demonstrations. On Saturday, June 7th from 3 to 4pm, Helen Cantrell will demonstrate palette knife painting technique, and on Sunday, June 8th from 2 to 3pm, featured artist Judy Friday will demonstrate her unique mono-print painting in etching ink on paper technique.
Opening Night is Thursday, June 5th from 5 to 7PM. Additional show hours include Friday, June 6th from 6 to 10pm, Saturday, June 7th from 2 to 8pm and Sunday, June 8th from 12 to 4pm. Admission for Opening Night is $40 which includes valet parking, wine and appetizers. Admission for all other days is $15.
