CALLING ALL ACTRESSES: Auditions for The Vagina Monologues

V-DAY NORWALK RETURNS FOR GLOBAL EFFORT TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
V-DAY NORWALK 2014 HOLDING AUDITIONS FOR ‘THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES’

V-Day Norwalk 2014 announces auditions for THE
VAGINA MONOLOGUES
by Eve Ensler on Sunday, Jan. 26 (4:00PM-6:00PM) and
Monday, Jan. 27 (5:30PM-7:30PM), at 733 Summer Street, Suite 503,
Stamford, CT 06901.
Auditioners should come prepared to
read an excerpt from The Vagina Monologues and with an
expressed interest in being a part of the V-Day campaign, an ongoing global
movement working to end violence against women and girls. Copies of individual
monologues will be provided. No prior acting experience is necessary for
this ALL FEMALE cast. All auditioners are required to be
available for Sunday afternoon rehearsals; those who are not won’t be considered. This production is non-union, no pay.
The production will be performed April 4-6, at The Carriage House Arts Center in Norwalk’s Cranbury Park. Last year, V-Day Norwalk raised a
total of $5,880 as part of V-Day. Approximately $5,292 from ticket sales and
private donations went to The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and
Education, an organization serving the communities of Greenwich, Stamford,
Norwalk, Westport, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton and Weston. In addition, $588 was
donated to the V-Day Spotlight Campaign, which focuses on ending violence
against women.

In 2012, over 5,800 V-Day
benefit productions were held around the world raising funds and educating
millions of people on the realities of violence against women and girls. To
date, the V-Day campaign has raised over $90 million, in addition to developing
international educational, media and PSA campaigns, re-opening shelters, and
donating funds to thousands of community-based anti-violence programs and safe
houses.

For the third consecutive year,
Norwalk will join this global effort as part of the V‑Day 2014 Community Campaign. All
proceeds from the Norwalk performances will go directly toward the efforts of
V-Day. Men are encouraged to be a part of

the campaign offstage.
