13th Annual Castles in the Sand to Benefit Homes with Hope
Homes with Hope will be hosting its 13th Annual
Castles in the Sand event for Westport residents and surrounding community
members. The organization welcomes adults and children of all ages to join in the
friendly contest.
The event will take place Saturday May 10, 2014, starting at
12 noon at Compo Beach in Westport. It is the only formal sand castle contest
held in Westport. Teams of varying sizes can purchase 10’ x 10’ lots starting
at $100 and 20’ x 20’ lots starting at $300.
Event proceeds will benefit the programs of Homes with Hope
including the Gillespie Center and Hoskins’ Place, emergency shelter for single
men and women; the Bacharach Community, emergency shelter for women and
children; and its Permanent Supportive Housing programs throughout the Westport
and Norwalk areas. Even as the cold days dwindle down, Homes with Hope aims to
give shelter to those struggling with emergency needs and chronic homelessness
year-round.
