Moccia Rallies Supporters Draws Dozens on Saturday

Well over fifty people gathered at the Republican Headquarters on Wall Street Saturday morning to express their support for Mayor Dick Moccia according to a release from the Moccia for Mayor campaign. Among those in attendance were House Minority Leader Larry Cafero, Representative Gail Lavielle, and Congressional candidate Dan Debicella.

“You and I stand behind Mayor Moccia because he has fought for the citizens of our beautiful city,” Rep. Cafero said in the release, addressing the crowd of volunteers and supporters. “Now, we need to go out and fight for him.”

Rep. Cafero encouraged supporters to volunteer by knocking on doors, making phone calls and connecting with voters. And evidently the volunteers took this message to heart; early estimates indicate they connected with over 5,000 voters on Saturday alone.

Campaign officials indicated the campaign headquarters (20 Wall Street) will be open to volunteers every day through Tuesday.

“The Mayor has a record to be proud of,” Republican Town Committee Chairman Art Scialabba said in the release. “For the next few day’s we’ll take that record to the voters.”
