This is New England. In March It Snows. Supposed to End by Afternoon.

C'mon, you knew this was coming. (Yes, we know, Spring's just arrived.)

Don't act surprised. You knew we weren't going to escape at least a bit more snow. Not this winter—or even in early spring (which officially began Sunday). It's the regular lamb-lion March switcheroo. It would be odd if March didn't do this to us.

Norwalk can expect a mix of snow and rain to last through 1 p.m., according to the Norwalk forecast of the National Weather Service. Only minor snow accumulations—of less than a half-inch—are expected on grassy surfaces, according to a "Special Weather Statement" issued by the weather service at 9:14 a.m. The statement was issued for communities in the southern parts of counties along the Connecticut coast. The service predicts the snow will change to rain before ending this afternoon.

Conditions are expected to clear tonight, and Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 51 degrees.
