Norwalk P&Z Committee Rejects Mosque Proposal

The committee rejected the plan to build the 27,000 square foot Al-Madany Islamic Center by a 3-0 vote based on a lack of sufficient parking, according to a CT Post report.

The plan review committee of the Planning & Zoning Commission has reportedly rejected a proposal to build a mosque on Fillow Street.

According to a report in the CT Post, the committee rejected the plan to build the new, 27,000 square foot by a 3-0 vote based on a lack of sufficient parking. The proposed facility would include a prayer hall, classrooms, a community/recreation center and 89 parking spots, according to the report.

The full commission is scheduled to vote on the application on June 6, according to the CT Post report.
