Good-Bye, Kuta

James "Kuta" Shaw remembered at funeral service on Friday in Norwalk.

The First Congregational Church in Norwalk overflowed with people wishing to pay their respects to on Friday afternoon. Friends, former classmates, teachers, coaches, and family members were part of an emotional tribute to while walking on the Route 7 connector on Dec. 23.

"He was a great man," said Mitch Armstrong, a cousin of Shaw. "Did you see you all the people in there? Kuta was loved by everybody. I never thought he would die like this and so soon."

and three-sport athlete at Brien McMahon, graduating in 2008, Shaw was just 21-years old when he died. Shaw was eulogized by friends who called him, "one-of-a-kind" and a person who could light up a room with his smile and personality. People from all walks of life, races, ethnic and age groups, came to say good-bye towhich was a testament to Shaw's character and popularity in the area.

"He meant everything to me, teammate, friend, buddy," said James Donaldson. "I don't think there was a kid in Norwalk or around Fairfield County that didn't know him. He's going to be missed."
