Friend Recalls Nancee Gell: 'She Was Brilliant'

Longtime friend remembers Nancee Gell, Norwalk woman killed in accident.

Robert Goeller remembers the Norwalk resident struck and killed by a motorist in Vermont Sunday, as "brilliant, outgoing, and gregarious." Goeller said he was close friends with Gell before moving to California just under two years ago.

Born and raised in New Canaan, Gell graduated from New Canaan High School in 1975 and enrolled at the University of Florida where according to Goeller, "earned her bachelors and a masters degree in social work in four years." Gell worked for the  early in her career and as a commercial salesperson for in Trumbull for more than 10 years. 

Gell married Gregory Hunter, a life-long resident of Norwalk. Goeller said the couple were "best friends" and that Nancee was a member of the Ski Bears, the Norwalk-based ski club, for more than 25 years.

"She loved to ski and she travelled throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe on trips," stated Goeller.
