Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: September 28

Get books for your Amazon Kindle at Norwalk Library; big trucks at DPW & Fire Department open houses; Webcomics Convention in Norwalk; art exhibit opens in Rowayton.

  1. Exciting news from . The library's eBook collection is now compatible with the Amazon Kindle. Members can now download eBooks to a Kindle device or any mobile device running the free Kindle app.
  2. . The new convention for webcomics will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Dolce Hotel and Resort. $30 per person for the weekend or $20 per person for the day.
  3. Norwalk Public Works will host their 8th Annual Public Open House and Touch A Truck this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 15 South Smith Street. Tons of fun things for kids and adults too.
  4. The Norwalk Fire Department - located at 121 Connecticut Ave. - will host its 9th Annual Open House on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hands on activities and demonstrations as well as fire safety and Sparky the dog. Please bring a non-perishable food item for donation.
  5. begins Saturday at The Rowayton Arts Center. "Enjoy high-quality artwork in all media by some of Fairfield County's finest artists." Gallery hours are 12 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
