Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: September 12

Register now for the 5k family run/walk "Run Between the Libraries", plus more.

  1. This Saturday there will be a special collection of yard waste for residents within the fourth taxing district. If you have Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday garbage collection. Pick up of yard waste for residents with Thursday or Friday garbage collection will be on the following Saturday, September 24. There are rules that apply so please click here to see what will and will not be hauled away.
  2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 will hit the IMAX theatre at the Maritime Aquarium this Friday and will run until October 30. What a way to see this finale!
  3. The 5K family run/walk "Run Between the Libraries" is scheduled for Sunday, September 25. You can register by clicking on this link.The first 250 registrants will receive a t-shirt and goody bag that includes a free pass to the Maritime Aquarium.
  4. Award-winning puppeteer Liz Joyce will perform the ancient Greek folktale of King Midas at on Sunday, September 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. " Joyce has toured the East Coast with her one-woman puppet company for children and is Founder and Artistic Director for Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre."
  5. As part of National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, will be giving Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. to men between the ages of 50 and 70 with no insurance or no primary care physician.
