Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: June 20

Norwalk Public Schools end of year schedule plus more.

  1. There is a two-hour-early dismissal for all Norwalk public schools today and every day until the last day of school on Wednesday, June 22. The exceptions are 's last day of school will be June 23 with dismissal at 12:25 p.m. All High Schools will dismiss Wednesday, June 22 with an 11:40 a.m. dismissal. graduation is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight, followed by graduation on Tuesday and on Wednesday.
  2. The is holding its 2nd public meeting for its City-wide Traffic Management Plan on Tuesday, June 21 in the Council Chamber at Norwalk City Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting will "address all modes of travel, including driving, walking, freight delivery, bicycling and taking the bus. The plan also will address transportation equity and access, safer routes to schools and how to help keep Norwalk moving."
  3. The final summer session at begins on July 5, which means you still have time to register and earn up to four college credits in just five weeks!
  4. Celebrate the first day of Summer with Downunder as they bring in the Summer Solstice with a sunset paddle on Tuesday, June 21 from  6:30 to 8:30pm. $55 adults $45 kids 6-16, free under 6. Contact Downunder for more information.
  5. Twinkle, twinkle little star... How about spending a night out under them? Saturday, June 25 take part in the nationwide Great American Backyard Campout. The nationwide event will benefit the  "National Wildlife Federation with 80 cents of every dollar you raise in the Great American Backyard Campout to support programs that address the problems of America's indoor childhood and the health risks associated with them."(See attached YouTube video.)
