Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: June 2

Postponed Wine Tasting, Move a Muscle-Change a Life Benefit, Rabies Clinic, Road Closure in Rowayton and Symphony Gala Success.

  1. has been postponed from this Thursday, June 2.  The events new date is Thursday, June 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at in Norwalk.
  2. There are overnight road closures on Rowayton Avenue, under the Metro-North Railroad Bridge, between Devils Garden Road and Hunt Street from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. until Friday, June 17 for construction of the new bridge abutments.
  3. The Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield is hosting a benefit—"Move a Muscle, Change a Life"—on Sunday, June 5 at Calf Pasture Beach. You have the options to walk/run 1 mile or 5K or bike 10 miles or 25 miles. Check in begins at 9 a.m. and a lunch by Stew Leonard's will be served.
  4. Keep your animals safe, join Norwalk Animal Control on Sunday, June 12 at 13 South Smith St. for their "7th Annual Rabies Clinic" for residents and non-residents from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost is $20 per shot and cash only.
  5. The Symphony’s benefit Gala and Concert on May 14, at Norwalk Concert Hall raised over $50,000, "biggest fundraiser the symphony has seen in a long time" as stated by Chairwoman, Kathryn Hebert. They promise that next years season will be "exciting and full of surprises."
