  5. Across the state, Old Glory is again at half staff, this time in honor of Army Private First Class Eric Daniel Soufrine, a Woodbridge native who  killed in action Tuesday in Afghanistan. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy ordered the flags down today, and they'll stay at half mast until Soufrine's funeral, a date for which has yet to be announced. According to a statement released by the governor's office: "Pfc. Soufrine, 20, died of injuries sustained when his vehicle hit an IED at a river crossing in Shewan Garrison Village, Afghanistan while on mounted patrol.  Pfc. Soufrine was a member of Battery B, 4th Battalion, 42d Field Artillery, out of Fort Carson, Colorado."
