Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: July 6

Rock and Read Summer takes off today with rhythms of the African drum, plus much more!

  1. 1, 2, 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock rock... with the at the beginning today. A weekly event that is open to all will take place on specific Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays. The 4 p.m. Wednesday schedule is as follows. Today you will groove with the African drums of Infinite Roots. July 13 rock and roll with Leonardo. July 20 travel around the world with Jay Mankita. July 27 dance to the oldies with Squeaky Clean and on August 3 enjoy the jazzy mixed root blugrass music of Phil Rosenthal.
  2. At 6 p.m. tomorrow join the for a meeting at the . Award-winning, international speaker, ActionCOACH’s Ellie Marshall will discuss “The 5 Ways to Massive Profits.” She will teach you "specific, effective ideas and systems to implement immediately and see fast results for your business." $35 per person includes dinner and dessert. Beverages at a cash bar.
  3. Congratulations to four promoted Norwalk Fire Department firefighters. Deputy Chief Todd Smith and Lieutenants, Fortunato Capomolla, Mark Conte and Roy Gagne.
  4. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday drive over to the Hope Church parking lot at 240 Wolfpit Ave, Wilton for a car wash that will help support young, single mothers and their children in the Norwalk area. "Donations will help fund scholarships to help teen mothers and their babies attend YoungLives camp in August, a mentoring program for young, single unwed mothers."
