Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: July 27

10 days until the SoNo Arts Celebration, plus more!

  1. The SoNo Arts Celebration is almost here! The party kicks off Friday, August 5 at 6 p.m. and continues until Sunday at 5 p.m. More details on the band line-up as it becomes available.
  2. There are a few meetings this evening:Personnel Committee of the Common Council will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 123 , Parking Authority meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Maritime Garage and a Historical Commission meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at the .
  3. It's Teen Movie Night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Norwalk Public Library in the teen room on the lower level of the library.
  4. The 5th Annual is this Saturday from 3 to 10 p.m. at 16 S. Division St, Peekskill, NY. "The Festival attracts thousands of people from across the Tri-State area, and has become one of Westchester's premiere summer musical and creative events."
  5. Sunset lectures at Sherwood Island end this week. The Friends of Sherwood Island State Park host a lecture series on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. in the Nature Center. This Thursday, July 28 the subject is Connecticut Parks: Back to the Future with guest speaker Dan Esty, Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. The lecture, refreshments and snacks are free, so is the entrance fee to the park after 5:30 p.m.
