Five Things You Need to Know About Norwalk: July 20

Congratulation to Kera Connolly for winning bronze, plus more!

  1. Norwalk's own Kera Connolly sailed to a bronze medal during the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, Greece. A volunteer for Special Olympics Connecticut for over 18 years, Connolly has also been the  beneficiary of the Unsung Hero Award. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
  2. There is a Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Council Committee Meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at Fodor Farm Pavillion located at 322 Flax Hill Road.
  3. Fundraiser for St. Vincent's Hospital Cancer Center from 1 to 5 p.m. at Sunday, July 24. Never ending pizza and wings, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and door prizes. There will also be live music for your entertainment. All proceeds provide financial assistance, support groups, education, prevention, and wellness programsfor patients and families in out area.
  4. The “Ragtime Evolution Quartet” will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Darien Arts Center on Saturday, July 23. Their classical and ragtime jazz performance should not be missed. $25 adults, $15 full-time students and $10 for DAC Music students.
  5. Kayak For A Cause kicks off from Calf Pasture Beach on Saturday, July 30. "Each year, kayakers join together to cross Long Island Sound and raise money for their favorite charities, most of which work to protect our local waters, environment and community."
